§ § · LEGAL

Plain language, the rules.

We kept this short on purpose. If you're using Binforge to design Gridfinity parts, you're good.

Last updated: April 2026

Six terms, plain English.

01
Use of service
Binforge is a free tool for designing Gridfinity-compatible parts. You may use it for personal and commercial purposes. The STL and 3MF files you export are yours. We claim no rights over your designs.
02
No warranty
Binforge is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do our best to generate spec-compliant, watertight geometry, but we cannot guarantee that every exported file will print perfectly on every printer. Always verify dimensions in your slicer before committing to a long print.
03
Intellectual property
The Gridfinity specification was created by Zack Freedman and is used under open terms. See the full specification at gridfinity.xyz/specification/. Binforge's geometry engine uses manifold-3d (Apache 2.0 license). Your designs, exported files, and shared URLs are your own intellectual property.
04
Export license
Every exported STL and 3MF file includes an embedded license: "Free to print, modify, and sell prints. Do not resell this file or claim it as your own. Attribution required." STL files include a Binforge header comment. 3MF files include full metadata: title, designer, copyright, creation date, and source URL.
05
Acceptable use
Don't use Binforge to generate content that violates laws in your jurisdiction. Don't attempt to overload, reverse-engineer, or attack the service. Standard internet citizenship applies.
06
Changes to terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
